OUR THEME

Our Aspiration for the Singaporean Healthcare System

As students in training to eventually enter the healthcare system in our various capacities, this theme was derived from the desire to understand what sort of system we wish to work in and contribute towards. Improvements in the healthcare system have taken place at breakneck speed yet we struggle to keep up with the equally rapid transformation of problems and challenges faced by  the Singaporean healthcare system. Be it in the administrative domain where manpower crunches have placed a significant strain on our system, or in treating a different host of diseases as compared to what was seen a few decades past, these new challenges require novel solutions. Many of these solutions, in fact, come from students and we wish to put this on display and encourage students to think more deeply on how to tackle these problems such that our healthcare ecosystem will be a better place when students join the workforce.

TMSandbox

All you need to sign up for TMSandbox is a few budding ideas and plenty of enthusiasm. Participants will be grouped into teams of 5 and set to solve one of two problem statements which can be found below. The problem statements revolve around the topics of Public Health and Digitalization with the former taking a particular interest in pandemic preparedness which has been a huge part of our lives for the past 2 years. At the end of 1 week following a series of workshops and clinics, you will be asked to present a 10-minute pitch of your idea to our panel of judges with experience both in industry and the public health system. But no sweat, you’ve got this!


This is open to all students currently studying in tertiary education institutes from any background. No prior experience is required. We hope for TMSandbox to be an open space for participants to meet others from various backgrounds and experiences so don’t feel shy to come down! Sign-ups are as individuals or in pairs (if you need that moral support) and will be open till 8th July!
